Have you seen the new U.S. Map behind the STB cafeteria? It is amazing!
One of our former students, Dan Dumford, painted the map, the back doors of our building, several hopscotch games, and various painted areas on the pavement. We couldn’t be more proud of Dan for taking on this project for our school!
Dan is trying to become an Eagle Scout. Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. Twenty-one merit badges, and a community project are required to become an Eagle Scout. For Dan’s community project, he chose to give back to St. Bernard’s Elementary. Ms. Wright, our Principal, found projects for Dan to do. He used the faded map that was there as a guideline and painted it with beautiful, vibrant colors.
Dan would like to thank everyone that donated money to help support his Eagle Scout project.
Our students are thrilled to play on the map at recess!
