St. Bernard's Elementary School
OPERATION SOLDIER RECOVERY
St. Bernard's Elementary School is proud to be helping the Blue Star Mothers, Massachusetts Chapter 1, with their ongoing project. This project provides comfort and support to injured and recovering soldiers as a reflection of our gratitude for their sacrifice and service. As they transition into recovery and move towards returning to their lives, we want them to always remember, "They are not alone!"
We are supporting Soldiers' Angels Germany by providing needed supplies (listed below) for patients at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. LRMC receives injured and ill soldiers on a daily basis, who often arrive wearing the uniforms in which they were wounded. We also support the small Combat Support Hospital in Iraq called "Patrol Base Courage". Our local support project will be for the outpatient facility at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA, which services our recovering soldiers.
There will be a drop-off box in the lobby for donations. Mrs. Tackett (Librarian) and Diane Tagliavia (Development Director) are heading this campaign.
