Bus Routes will be posted on the school’s website as soon as they are made available to us. Students in Grades 1-8 will need monthly Bus Passes which can be purchased in the school office. Please use a luggage tag holder or something similar to display your student’s monthly Bus Pass on his/her backpack.
Extended Morning Care
Extended Morning Care begins at 7:45 a.m. each morning. Any student, Pre-School to Grade 2, who is dropped off before 8:30 a.m. must go to the Extended Care program. This begins the first day of school.
After School Program
The After School Program begins Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. This program is for all grades from 3:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. A registration form is required for a student to participate. We strongly encourage all parents to fill out an After School registration form and send it in to the office – just in case you need it! Please notify the school by note no later than that morning for any “drop in” After School Program student, so that we may provide adequate supervision every afternoon.
The Parent/Student Handbook
The Parent/Student Handbook for 2016-2017 will be posted shortly on our website under the About Us tab. Please read the Handbook with your child. Any changes or updates to the Handbook are in green. The Signature Form is the last page of the Handbook. Please print, sign and return this form to school by Friday, Sept. 9.
Laundry markers are a great way to label clothing with your child’s name and grade. We will happily return any misplaced or forgotten items to you!
Hot Lunch Program
There will be no Hot Lunch offered on Sept. 1 or Sept. 2. Students should bring their own lunch and drink on those days. The Hot Lunch Program will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Lunch orders are due on Thursday, Sept. 1 for the following week.
Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School will once again be providing our hot lunch program. Lunch menus which are also the order form will be posted on our website. The cost will be $4.00 for a lunch with milk. Orders are due in school on Thursday for the following week.
Friday is Pizza Day!
Pizza Day will begin on Friday, Sept. 9. Orders will be taken on Thursdays via Homeroom or may be placed online with the Hot Lunch order. The cost continues at $1.00 per slice.
Parking in the Circle
Please do not park in the circle in front of the school at any time during the school day. Parking in the circle impedes safe arrival and dismissal of students, and violates the Fire Code that requires access for fire and emergency vehicles. The Fire Lane is clearly marked.
Cars for Pre-School Drop Off and Pick-Up should be parked beyond the fire lane in the circle near the walkway to the Pre-K entrance.
Dismissal for car riders will begin at 3:10 p.m. Please do not park in the school yard until 2:45 p.m. Please have the student’s last name posted on your visor.
As always, no cell phone use or texting during Car Riders’ dismissal for the safety of all our students and staff. Cell phones interfere with our Walkie-Talkie system, which slows down our dismissal.
Parents and Visitors
Our intention is to greet everyone at our front door and welcome you to St. Bernard’s Elementary School. Should we not do this, please report to the Office where we will welcome you and ask you to sign in to our school.
We welcome and need your help throughout the year! We are currently seeking volunteers to act as morning greeters at our front door and to help at lunch time to serve meals. Please call the school at (978) 342-1948 if you are interested! Available one day or multiple days? We can use your help! Other volunteers are welcome, as well!
If you anticipate coaching, volunteering in our classrooms, library, cafeteria, or chaperoning a day trip or multi-day activity, you must have a CORI check completed every school year. Please see the Principal if you wish to start this process.
